Every year we either expand our existing plantings or try something new such as highland cranberries, bush cherries or a really promising berry called Haskap or honeyberries.  Honeyberries, if successful, will enable us to begin our u-pick season in early June;  sweet news for the berry aficionados.

Sweet Season Farm consists of 100 acres, located in the town of Washington, Maine, halfway between the state capital of Augusta and the premier coastal vacation destination of Camden-Rockland.

We purchased the property in 1987 but only began growing commercially in 2003 with the planting of the first 500 blueberry bushes.

Haskap or honeyberry to the left. Ripen early June with a flavor between a strawberry and a blueberry.  Northern blueberry to the right.  Our varieties begin ripening early July and continue through August.

Our primary focus is u-pick blueberries.   We are not certified organic but follow the principles and practices.  Sweet Season Farm is committed to sustainable agriculture, our environment and the flora and fauna that share our piece of earth.
